Synopsis: Darden State Hospital is taking its toll on Dr. Trey Campbell (Patrick Muldoon), a psychiatrist who treats the criminally insane. His own dreams are filled with the savage and sensual fantasies of one very beautiful but very lethal murderess under his care, Maureen Hatcher (Patsy Kensit). Trey cannot deny he is powerfully drawn to Maureen's beauty and intelligence while being repelled by the evil she has done.

Trey is about to leave on a vacation when Maureen warns him not to leave her. But that afternoon he is on a ferry to a resort island with his wife Carly (Amy Locane) and his daughter Teresa to try to repair the damage his obsession with Maureen h as done to his marriage. They settle into a beach house by the shore.

Meanwhile at Darden, Maureen seduces and kills an attendant along with two others and escapes in disguise. She throws off the police by staging her own death in a car crash. She then hunts down Trey, determined to destroy his family who she thinks is preventing him from remembering his dark past life... her lover from a past life.

While Trey is called back to the mainland to consult with the police over the deaths at Darden, Maureen abducts Carly and Teresa. She takes them to an ancient ruin where she will use them to lure Trey into a psychotic fantasy where they are bonded by a vicious karma.

Trey must use all his psychological skills to prevent disaster. But in the process, he does begin to remember images of himself on fog-shrouded London streets, wielding a knife with Maureen, hunting their victims by moonlight. While his wife watches in terror, Trey struggles to reclaim his true personality... but is Maureen merely delusional, or is she right about Trey?

From its frightening beginning to its nerve-shattering conclusion, Bad Karma is a movie in the chilling tradition of Fatal Attraction and Cape Fear.
